No data is stored
Open, analyze, export. Your file stays on your device the whole time.
Your files never leave your device
When you open a QVD file, it is read and converted right in your browser. The file itself is never sent to our servers, so we have nothing to store: no copies, backups or extracts of your data.
The only thing we count
After a file is processed, your browser sends only its number of records, which we add to a single running total of records processed by the service. That total is just a number, with no file names, field names, values or anything that could identify you or your data. It exists purely so we can brag about our metrics a little. 🙂
Hosted in the EU
The website and its record counter are hosted on servers located in the European Union.
Anonymous visit analytics
We use a self-hosted instance of Umami to see how many people visit the site. It is cookieless, collects no personal data and never sees the contents of your files.
Free to use
QVD Extractor is a free tool to help data analysts inspect QVD files and export them to CSV or Parquet. Exports are generated right in your browser. No account, no sign-up. We needed it, we created it. Now you can use it too.
